1080ml Shiriyaki Shiriyaki Onsen

A hot spring village with nostalgia for nature and rich in ancient legends.

  • ■1080 ml

    "1080ml (Kuni)" is a mountain village located in the northwestern part of Gunma prefecture and adjacent to Nagano prefecture.
    In 1900, the six villages of Iriyama, Kosame, Oshi, Hikage, Akaiwa, and Namasu merged to form 1080 ml village in Agatsuma-gun.
    Currently, it is a 1080 ml district in Nakanojo Town, Agatsuma County -gun.
    The old history is remembered from the name of "The Kojiki (Records of Ancient Matters)", which is named after "Making 1080 ml with all four sides".
    Minamoto no Yoshinaka (Minamoto no Yoshinaka Yoshinaka Kiso), who made a name for himself in the latter half of the Heian Period, grew up hiding in his childhood.
    It is said that he eventually went to Kiso Valley in Shinshu with his genpuku.
    It is said that the name of the village called "Yodate" was left from there.
    It is also fun to walk around "Yodate Hachi Waterfall" while thinking about such history.
    It can be over in a tour course of about 60 minutes, but it is climbing shoes required because there is also a steep slope.
  • ■Akaiwa

    Many sericulture farmers from the end of the Edo period to the Meiji era remain in the village of "Akaiwa".
    It is designated as an Important Preservation Districts for Traditional Buildings in Gunma prefecture.
    Among them, the Yumoto Residence, who is said to have been hidden by Choei Takano, who studied Dutch studies in Nagasaki at the end of the Edo period, still exists.
    It is a cultural property of the village.
  • ■Oshi Station Ruins

    The "Oshi Station Ruins" is a must-see spot for railway lovers.
    Built to transport the iron ore of Gunma Tetsuzan(iron mine) during the war,
    It came to be used as a local train in 1954,
    It is the remains of a Michi-no-Eki (Roadside Station) that was discontinued in 1967.
    In the 1080ml district located between Kusatsu Onsen and Sekizen Shima Onsen,
    There is also a plateau dam lake "Nozori Lake" at an altitude of Nozori Lake.
    In the special area of Joshinetsu-Kogen National Park and the area designated as a natural recreation forest,
    Glaucidium palmatum, Japanese azalea, Japanese azalea, fireweed, etc. in each season
    Over 300 species of alpine plants bloom.
  • ■Yoshigadaira Wetlands

    Surrounded by Mt. Mt Yokote and Mt Shirane, "Yoshigadaira" is one of the highest marshes in Japan, and you can see colonies of cotton grass and rhododendron.
    In May 2015, it was registered as the "Yoshigadaira Wetlands" in the "Wetland of Ramsar Convention" to promote the conservation and proper use of wetlands that are internationally important as habitats for waterfowl and animals and plants that inhabit and grow. It is a valuable area.

    Chatsubomi moss, which lives only in the 1080 ml area, is a beautiful moss called "Marigoke".

    It is designated as a national natural monument.

  • ■Song monument of poet Bokusui Wakayama

    The poet Tsumagoi Bokusui Wakayama traveled from Shinshu Saku to Nikko Yumoto via Saku, Nagano, Kusatsu Onsen, and 1080 ml in the fall of 1922, leaving many masterpieces.
    Along the way to Kuresaka Pass, it is also recommended to follow the monument that conveys the excitement of 1080 ml of Yamano.

    Speaking of 1080ml, the river bath that anyone can take freely is also famous.
    A 3-minute walk from the hotel "Hoshigaoka Sanso
    It is a natural open-air bath where the river water is stopped by weirs at the top and bottom.
    Please note that it may not be available depending on the season and weather.
    It's a mixed bath, so it's a good idea to bring a bathing suit.
    There is a hut that can be used for changing clothes, but please note that it does not have a door.
